The Royal Holiday

Author: Jasmine Guillory
Publisher: Penguin Publishing Group
Page Count: 320

This book focuses on Maddie’s mom Vivian Forest (a fifty-five-year-old social worker who loves her job) and Malcom Hudson (a fifty-two-year-old British private secretary to the Queen of England). This book is about falling in love at a later age. I enjoyed how wholesome this book is. It’s so much different from other romcoms and romance books where the intimate parts are more detailed. This one has less details on those parts but they still inflicted the same emotions to the reader. I love how the forms of communication between the main characters are traditional and genuine. I’ve always loved stories related to royalty so I really enjoyed this but this time, the royals aren’t the main characters which makes this even more unique and interesting. I also like that the author tackles the importance of enjoying life at the moment and finding happiness and contentment in one’s occupation. This book shows that love defies distance and that people of color achieve great things.
