If you’ve read my Blueland review post, you’ve learned that I’ve been trying to cut back on single-use plastic. One of the big plastic purchases that our household has is laundry detergents and fabric softeners that come in big plastic bottles. In my search for environment-friendly laundry products, I came across Dropps.

What is Dropps?

Dropps is a company that sells different cleaning products for kitchen and laundry. Their vision it to help transform your home care by using effective, eco-responsible, and convenient products. Some of their products include:

Kitchen

  • dishwasher detergent

  • Swedish dish cloth

Laundry

  • stain and odor detergent

  • fabric softener

  • oxi boosters

  • wool dryer balls

  • washing bag

  • cool water washing pouch

The Packaging

My package came with a regular packaging. IT contained two little boxes that stored the pods. I ordered the Stain & Odor Detergent and the Fabric Softener both in Clean Scent.

How to Use

From the website:
1 pod = 1 load

  • First, toss pod (1 of each) into the washer drum.

  • Then, add your armful of laundry

  • Next, choose your wash cycle.

Review

I’ve been using this product for more than a month. The things that I like about these pods are:

  • The detergent pods come in three different scents while the fabric softeners come in six. For sensitive skin, I recommend getting the unscented pods. So far, I’ve been enjoying the clean scent. The detergent comes in clean scent, lavender, and unscented while the fabric softener comes in all three plus orange blossom, crisp fall air, and a limited edition pine-berry scent. The scents are not too overwhelming compared to other brands, which can be a pro or a con to different people.

  • The pods are dye-free. The products are clear and free of unnecessary artificial dyes.

  • They’re cruelty-free and made in the USA. They don’t test on animals. They’re also locally made.

  • They’re HE Compatible. The pods are formulated to be compatible to high efficiency washers that use less water.

Final Verdict

I like the vision and the practices of the company. The products are manufactured in the USA so they support local jobs and businesses. They also provide fair wages to their employees. I’ve been using both the detergent and fabric softener and they do a great job in cleaning our clothes. I haven’t tried them on heavily stained clothes yet but so far, with my significant other’s clothes that are usually dirty from woodworking, they’ve been working pretty well. You wouldn’t achieve the same strength of scent from other known detergents and fabric softeners but for people who are sensitive to certain scents, this would be a great fit. The cost is at par with other brands when you subscribe. If you like supporting ethical companies that sell eco-friendly products, Dropps is definitely worth a try. They also have a 30-day risk-free trial and free shipping.
