Every Breath

After around five years of being busy with work and grad school, I was finally able to read again a couple of months ago (September) and this was the first book I had in mind. I’m glad I picked this book from the bookstore.

Nicholas Sparks is an amazing romance fiction writer. The way he narrates his stories always makes me smile and it always touches a sweet spot in my heart.

Hope Anderson has been with her surgeon boyfriend for years but is still not engaged. She decides to spend a few days in her parents’ cottage at Sunset Beach, North Carolina for her friend’s wedding and to grab some things before the cottage goes to market. There, she meets Tru Walls, a safari guide from Zimbabwe, who is visiting to meet his dying father for the first time, to learn more about his mother who died when he was young. Hope and Tru spend some quality time together and develop feelings for each other. However, Hope has big decisions to make regarding her future considering what has happened during her stay in Sunset Beach.

This book is about settling with a person to achieve one’s aspirations, heartbreaking regrets, patience, and selfless love that can withstand time.
