The Twelve Dates of Christmas

Author: Jenny Bayliss
Publisher: Penguin Publishing Group
Page Count: 368

This book is a cute holiday romcom that will take your imagination to a small charming town filled with Christmas spirit. The concept of having twelve dates of Christmas seems a bit exhausting to me but I can also imagine how fun it could be. The main character Kate Turner is really adorable. She’s a fabric designer, who works from home, and seems to be living the life. She’s surrounded by her loved ones— her father Mac, her best friend Laura, and her childhood sweetheart Matt. This book mentioned hot cocoa so many times that I had to make my own while reading it. The author mentioned a lot of Christmas-related things and traditions, and they hit the right spot. The chapters are very long (one was over 40 pages). The author really described the settings in the book up to the tiniest details. The twelve dates were fun and the men he dated were interesting. Holiday books like this make me want to switch careers and move to a small tight-knit town.
