Valentine’s Day 2021
Valentine’s Day this year was a bit different because of COVID-19. For the past five years, my boyfriend Rolando and I went to short out-of-town trips or nice restaurants in the city. Due to the changing policies about dining in restaurants, we weren’t able to make a reservation to one of the restaurants on our list. However, we definitely enjoyed spending the day relaxing and going to a local restaurant at night.
I bought a Peloton Bike+ in December 2020 and I’ve been using it religiously not just for cycling classes but also for other strengthening and yoga classes. To start my day off, I did a 20-min arms Arms & Shoulder workout with Matty Maggiacomo (my favorite strength instructor). I followed it with Olivia Amato’s 5-min core workout (believe me, 5mins with Olivia works as much as 15mins of core exercise with somebody else). I also did a 30-min spin ride and a post-stretch with Ally Love and to finish it off, I did a 20-min Yoga Flow with Aditi Shah (love the Britney Spears songs on this one).
You could purchase a Peloton Bike+ here.
Moët & Chandon Rosé Imperial Champagne Plum Market $54.97
Saracco Moscato d’Asti Binny’s $13.99
We dined at Scotty’s on 21 in Vernon Hills, IL. We had beef carpaccio for our appetizer. For our entrees, I had lobster pasta while Rolando had filet mignon with a king’s crab leg. Our food was great. The ambience in the restaurant was nice. I wish there were more waiters but for a last-minute reservation, it wasn’t a bad experience. We only spent an hour here and went straight home right after.
